Whispers in the Paint is a gothic love story in which passion collides with class boundaries and the shadows of the past. A fleeting meeting between two young artists in Italy sets in motion a chain of events where innocent affection becomes a moral trial, and buried truths demand their price.

It is the story of a future shaped — and undone — by the past.

First published as a novel in 2025, the story quickly rose to bestseller status in Estonia.

Inspired by the lives of two towering figures of Estonian art — Julie Hagen-Schwarz and Johann Köler — it is dedicated to the bicentenary of their birth.

We are now inviting co-production partners to join us in bringing this story to the screen, as we enter the financing and international co-production stage.
